Dr Mehrdad Hariri is the founder and CEO of the Canadian Science Policy Centre, a not for profit organization working as a virtual HUB for science technology and innovation policy in the Canada.
First national annual Canadian Science Policy Conference (CSPC), a forum dedicated to the Canadian Science Technology and Innovation (STI) Policy issues. The CSPC is the largest national multi-disciplinary and multi-sector conference in Canada, engaging hundreds of organizations and individuals from across the country, various disciplines and industry sectors to discuss the most pressing issues in Canadian Science Policy.
Mehrdad also co-founded sciencecanada, a blog dedicated to collecting science related stories and news, articles from different media outlet. He has published numerous articles and opinion pieces in various media outlets, some of which listed below. As a commentator on science policy issues he regularly appears in media, including a one to one interview with Steve Paikin on his flagship prime time program “Agenda” on TVO.
He studied in the fields of Veterinary Medicine, Cell Biology and Functional Genomes, in Tehran, Montréal, and Toronto universities, and performed a post-doctoral research fellowship at the McLaughlin-Rotman Centre for Global Health.
Mehrdad Hariri has served on the board of number of organizations and in the Iranian Community, he has been member of IAUT, Bam Relief committee, Solidary with the People of Iran. He is a founding member of Iranian Canadian Congress.
