About the seminar:
With rapid development of smart energy grids in North America and Europe, the interoperability among IT/ICT, Power and Control systems is also growing fast. Big Data Management techniques for optimal management & mining of energy data; IT/ICT infrastructure for efficient & secure energy data communication among SCADA, WAMS, Power Utilities (PUs) and Local Distribution Companies (LDCs); Analytical tools and Decision Support Systems (DSS) for optimal and efficient energy usage in industrial, commercial, residential, agricultural and institutional sectors are all top R&D topics within the smart grid industry and academia. In this seminar we will briefly introduce the following concepts (with proper application examples) to the audience: Smart Energy Grids and their main components, Intelligent Energy Management Systems/Solutions for future sustainable homes in North America, Smart Grid and Renewable Energy systems business trends for the next 20 years in North America.
