Why Business Needs Engineers?

(This seminar will be conducted in English.)

There are numerous ways in which engineers contribute to everyday business of Canadian companies.

In this presentation we will focus on the following engineering contributions:

i) safe design, 

ii) cost engineering, and 

iii) recognizing planning fallacy.

About the speaker:

Dr. Marko Saban is the director of Scale-up Engineering Lab at Xerox Research Center of Canada (XRCC).

Highlight of his activities:

  • 25 yrs of materials R&D experience at Xerox Research Centre of Canada (XRCC)
  • Scale-up Engineering Lab Director since 2013
  • Client Relationship Manager for the Green Centre of Canada (GCC) - see link below
  • Delivered several imaging materials to commercial application, including technology transfer and supply assurance.
  • Green Belts certified (Lean Six Sigma and Design for Lean Six Sigma)
  • Coauthored 36 US Patents
  • 17 publications, ~10 conference presentations
  • Excellence in Science and Technology Award, Xerox Innovation Group, October 2011
  • Adjunct Professor at McMaster University (since 2012)
