Biography of the speaker:

Andrzej Krukowski, M. Sc., P. Eng.

Mr. Andrzej Krukowski has over 40 years of professional experience with over 30 years in Canadian nuclear Industry. His specialty is piping and vessel design. From 1981 until 1992 he was part of the Nuclear Piping Design Team for Darlington Nuclear Power Station. From 1993 until 2001 he worked for Atomic Energy of Canada. In 2001 Mr. Krukowski accepted a position of Chief Nuclear Engineer at Wardrop Engineering, where he was the Design Authority for the Mississauga Office. In 2003 Mr. Krukowski established his own engineering company “Seronek Engineering Inc.” with main activities in piping, vessel design and analysis, and Quality Management. Between 2005 and 2010 Mr. Krukowski worked for SNC-Lavalin Nuclear Inc. As Mechanical Department Manager he was in charge of the mechanical design for The Bruce A Steam Generator Replacement Project - the biggest and most unique generators replacement project in the World to date. While with SNC-Lavalin Mr. Krukowski later held the position of Director of Engineering and Chief Nuclear Officer. Presently Mr. Krukowski works as a nuclear consultant. His company "Seronek Engineering Inc." provides service to the Nuclear Industry in piping and vessel design and analysis, technical assessments and reviews, classification and registrations, position papers, quality audits and Quality Management system consultations.

Mr. Krukowski work with codes and standards started early in his professional carrier as a designer. In 2001 however, he decided to contribute to the development of Canadian Nuclear Standards. He is a voting member of CSA-N285.0 (General requirements for pressure-retaining systems and components in CANDU nuclear power plants) and CSA-N294 (Decommissioning of facilities containing nuclear substances) standards.
