Speaker: Dr. Kamal Adham

Bio Summary:

Dr. Kamal Adham – Ph.D., P.Eng. is a Technology Director at Hatch; with 20  years of process design experience. His responsibilities include process leadership on major projects, equipment design oversight, feasibility study  management, pilot plant and plant audits and troubleshooting – mostly in  the fluidization technology field, and for metal and mineral projects.

Kamal has been the lead process engineer on a number of fluid-bed projects and studies, including: QIT (Rio Tinto) for synthetic rutile production and mixed metal chlorides pyrohydrolysis - Inco (Vale) for nickel  chloride pyrohydrolysis and HCl recovery - Falconbridge (Xstrata) for direct reduction of nickel laterite – Kamoto (KOL) for new copper/cobalt fluid bed roaster in Africa - Metallurg Vanadium for heavy metals recovery from spent catalysts - Mosaic for the potash fluid bed dryers – ETX Systems for fluid bed coker bitumen upgrading – BHPB for arsenic removal from concentrates - QSLG for magnesium chloride dehydrators (using air and HCl). He holds Bachelor and Master degrees in chemical engineering, as well as PhD from University of Toronto. He is a registered professional engineer in Ontario and a member of the Canadian Metallurgical Society’s board of directors.
