Dr. Lida Eslami, Ph.D., BCIN
Bio:
Dr. Lida Eslami is an architectural designer, researcher, and educator with over 22 years of experience in architecture, urban planning, sustainable development, and Ontario Building Code compliance. Her professional experience includes residential, commercial, mixed-use, low-rise, and mid-rise developments.
She earned her Ph.D. in Architecture (2016) with research focused on Universal Design and Social Sustainability, promoting inclusive, accessible, and resilient communities. Passionate about universal design and sustainability, she advocates for design solutions that balance environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Her research published by IOS press in the “York University in the united kingdom ” in the international conference of universal design on 2015 were closely aligns with the objectives and evaluation criteria of (CMHC) housing initiatives, including accessibility, sustainability, affordability, and community well-being.
Dr. Lida also holds a Master of Landscape Architecture, specializing in sustainable landscape design, and a Master of Architecture. Her research on Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) and sustainable urban development around the major streets was nominated as a best practice in the international conference of UIC Next Station in 2015 . She has authored more than 15 research and technical publications.
She is a BCIN-qualified Designer for Small Buildings and Large Buildings, an Intern Architect with the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA),
Dr. LIDA is passionate about teaching the Ontario Building Code, combining academic research with practical permit and building design experience to prepare professionals for real-world practice.
